Goodbye 2013

Whew, made it through the holidays….well almost. New Year’s is just around the corner and this year, I am READY! I have to admit, 2013 was a tough year for me but it was also really good. Here are a few highlights:

·         I said goodbye to my beloved, Uncle Ken in July, insert sad face.
·         Took a road trip adventure to South Carolina with Paige to celebrate Julie’s birthday and Memorial Day on the beach. Great memories!

Julie, me and Paige in Charelston, SC.
·         Celebrated sweet Caroline’s first birthday!
·         Spent a great weekend in Austin with my besties celebrating Gina and then hitting the town to dance with our favorite 80’s band, the Spazmatics! I am still laughing!

Dancing the night away at the Spazmatics concert in Austin, TX.
·         Welcomed the birth of my “nephew,” Vincent and my new buddy Will. I love babies!!
·         Partied with my High School Class of 1993 at our 20th reunion! Yikes, 20 years!

With the gang at our HS reunion, go Tigers!
·         Started CrossFit at East Dallas CrossFit, only the best box in town! Check them out!
·         Crossed MANY finish lines with Lindsey, one of the best running partners EVER!
·         Spent the summer at the FOE (Fraternal Order of Eagles)
·         I met SO many new friends this year that my cup runeth over with blessings.
·         Celebrated many birthdays of my dear friends.
·         I RAN my first half marathon, yay! I am still on a runner high from that! I have participated in two half marathons in the past but I did the whole run/walk/crawl/limp method and while that method can be effective the best method is just giving it your all and running the whole dang thing!

DRC Half Marathon, at the finish line.

Looking back there are so many good things that occurred this year that they definitely outweigh the bad! I am excited about the New Year and the many adventures and shenanigans that 2014 will bring!

Time to make those New Year’s resolutions….. I am working on mine as we speak, well type.

Happy New Year!!

Kristin
